This is an archetype very heavily inspired by Puella Magi Madoka Magica, consisting mostly of female Spellcaster-Type monsters. They have a variety of different Attributes and effects, which is why it may at times be better to use only some of them in a deck focused around them, but one thing they have in common is their capability for Synchro Summoning. At the moment, the only attribute they lack is WIND, so they have the potential for use in many deck types.

Anyway, I won't go on too long of a rant here without showing you the cards first. Without further delay, here's what I've got so far.


Mashou Stopper
Level 3 DARK
Spellcaster/Effect
ATK 1300 DEF 400
This card can be treated as 2 Xyz Material for the Xyz Summon of a "Sorrowitch" monster. At the start of the Battle Phase during your turn: Toss a coin and apply the appropriate effect.
• Heads: This card can attack twice during the Battle Phase.
• Tails: Change this card to face-down Defense Position.

Mashou Musketeer
Level 4 EARTH
Spellcaster/Effect
ATK 1500 DEF 1100
This card can be treated as 2 Xyz Material for the Xyz Summon of a "Sorrowitch" monster. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can place 1 Spell Counter on this card (max 3). Remove 3 Spell Counters from this face-up Attack Position card; destroy up to 2 monsters on the field, then change this card to Defense Position. This effect of "Mashou Musketeer" can only be used once per turn.

Mashou Striker
Level 4 FIRE
Warrior/Effect
ATK 2200 DEF 200
This card can be treated as 2 Xyz Material for the Xyz Summon of a "Sorrowitch" monster. While face-up on the field, this card is also Spellcaster-Type. If this card attacks, it is changed to Defense Position at the end of the Battle Phase. You cannot change this battle position until the end of your next turn. Once per turn: You can halve this card's ATK (permanently); but its ATK cannot be changed to a higher value while it's face-up on the field. If you do, it can attack your opponent directly this turn.

Mashou Defender
Level 3 WATER
Warrior/Effect
ATK 1450 DEF 1450
This card can be treated as 2 Xyz Material for the Xyz Summon of a "Sorrowitch" monster. While face-up on the field, this card is also Spellcaster-Type. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can discard 1 Spell Card to apply one of the following effects until the End Phase of your opponent's next turn.
• Up to twice per turn, this card cannot be destroyed by battle.
• Reduce this card's DEF to 0, then increase its ATK by the same amount. This card cannot attack your opponent directly.

Mashou Archer
Level 3 LIGHT
Spellcaster/Effect
ATK 1000 DEF 1000
This card can be treated as 2 Xyz Material for the Xyz Summon of a "Sorrowitch" monster. Up to twice per turn: You can target 1 other face-up monster on the field, then reduce the ATK and DEF of this card by 500; either increase OR decrease the target's ATK and DEF by 500. These effects are applied simultaneously and last until your opponent's End Phase. This card cannot use its effect if its ATK or DEF is 0.

Mashou Breeder
Level 2 DARK
Fiend/Tuner/Effect
ATK 500 DEF 500
During your Main Phase 1, you can Tribute this card to Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Spellcaster-Type "Mashou" monster from your hand or Deck. During your Main Phase 2, if this card used this effect during this turn: You can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard by banishing 1 "Mashou" monster from your Graveyard. Each effect of "Mashou Breeder - Kyuubey" can only be used once per turn.

False Mashou Breeder
Level 1 DARK
Beast/Tuner/Effect
ATK 250 DEF 250
This card can be treated as 2 Xyz Material for the Xyz Summon of a "Sorrowitch" monster. This card cannot be used as Synchro or Xyz Material, except for a "Mashou" or "Sorrowitch" monster. Once per turn, during your Main Phase: You can declare a Level from 1 to 4 and banish 1 "Mashou Breeder" from your Graveyard; this card's Level becomes the declared Level until the End Phase.

Mashou Stopper Alter, Tomareiko
Level 5 DARK
Spellcaster/Synchro/Effect
ATK 2200 DEF 1400
1 non-Spellcaster-Type Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner DARK Spellcaster-Type monsters
When this card is Synchro Summoned: Target all other cards on the field; they cannot activate or apply their effects this turn, and any monsters targeted cannot change Battle Position or attack until your opponent's End Phase. For the rest of the turn in which this card is Synchro Summoned: You cannot play any cards from your hand, Summon other monsters, or use effects that activate in the Graveyard or Banished Zone. Once per turn, except the turn in which this card was Synchro Summoned, you can pay 1000 Life Points to have this card attack twice during this turn's Battle Phase.

Mashou Musketeer Alter, Tearona
Level 6 EARTH
Spellcaster/Synchro/Effect
ATK 2400 DEF 2100
1 non-Spellcaster-Type Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner EARTH Spellcaster-Type monsters
The number of Spell Counters on this card cannot be changed by a card effect you control, except by its own effect or the effect of "I'm Not Afraid of Anything Anymore!". Also, you cannot remove Spell Counters from "The Magical Citadel of Endymion" for this card's effect. Once per turn: You can reduce this card's original ATK to 0 and place a Spell Counter on it for every 400 ATK lost OR remove all Spell Counters from this card to destroy an equal number of cards on the field.

Mashou Striker Alter, Poken
Level 6 FIRE
Warrior/Synchro/Effect
ATK 2650 DEF 100
1 non-Spellcaster-Type Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner FIRE Spellcaster-Type monsters
While face-up on the field, this card is also Spellcaster-Type. If this card attacks, it is changed to Defense Position at the end of the Battle Phase. You cannot change this battle position until the end of your next turn. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can activate this card's effect. If you do, it can attack all of your opponent's monsters simultaneously during the Battle Phase of this turn with its ATK becoming 3500 during Damage Calculation only. If this card activated its effect during this turn: Banish it during the End Phase.

Mashou Defender Alter, Umika
Level 5 WATER
Warrior/Synchro/Effect
ATK 1500 DEF 2000
1 non-Spellcaster-Type Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner WATER Spellcaster-Type monsters
While face-up on the field, this card is also Spellcaster-Type. This card cannot be destroyed by battle. Apply the appropriate effect to this card, depending on its Battle Position.
• Attack Position: This card gains ATK equal to half its DEF and is unaffected by your opponent's Spell Cards.
• Defense Position: This card gains DEF equal to its ATK and is unaffected by Monster Effects, except its own.

Mashou Archer Alter, Madeanza
Level 5 LIGHT
Spellcaster/Synchro/Effect
ATK 1500 DEF 1500
1 non-Spellcaster-Type Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner LIGHT Spellcaster-Type monsters
When this card is Special Summoned: Target up to 3 other "Mashou" monsters and reduce this card's ATK and DEF by 500 for each target; the target monster(s) gain 1000 ATK and DEF. If a monster(s) targeted by this effect would be destroyed while this card is face-up on the field, you can destroy this card instead.

Mashou Savior, Tomareiko
Level 7 DARK
Spellcaster/Synchro/Effect
ATK 2300 DEF 2400
1 non-Spellcaster-Type Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner DARK Spellcaster-Type monsters
Must be Synchro Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. When this card is Synchro Summoned: Send all "Mashou Breeder" Tuner Monsters on the field and in your hand to the Graveyard. This card gains 400 ATK and DEF for each "Mashou Breeder" Tuner Monster in either Graveyard. Once per turn, during your Standby Phase: You can target 1 "Mashou Breeder" Tuner Monster in your Graveyard; add that target to your hand, and if you do, this card can attack twice during the Battle Phase of this turn.

Mashou Ultimate, Megamishou
Level 11 LIGHT
Fairy/Synchro/Effect
ATK 3200 DEF 3200
1 non-Spellcaster-Type Tuner + 2 or more non-Tuner Spellcaster-Type "Mashou" monsters
Must be Synchro Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Your opponent cannot activate any cards or effects in response to the Synchro Summon of this card. When this card is Synchro Summoned: Negate the effects of all DARK non-"Mashou" monsters on the field and banish them (if a monster is face-down, reveal it, then banish it if it is a DARK monster). Once per turn: You can target all "Mashou" monsters on the field and in all Graveyards; return the targets to the Deck, and if you do, this card's original ATK and DEF become equal to the number of "Mashou" monsters returned by this effect x 800.

Incubation
Normal Spell Card
Add 1 "Mashou Breeder" Tuner monster from your Deck to your hand, then send 1 Level 3 or higher "Mashou" monster from your Deck to the Graveyard.

Mashou Magic - Fearless
Quick-Play Spell Card
Activate only during the Battle Phase. Remove all Spell Counters on the field and target a face-up "Mashou Musketeer" monster. Increase the target's ATK and DEF by the number of Spell Counters removed x 500 until the End Phase. It also gains the following effect.
• At the start of the Damage Step, if this card is attacked by a monster with 1500 ATK or more: Destroy this card immediately (without damage calculation).

Mashou Magic - Illusion
Quick-Play Spell Card
Activate only during the Battle Phase. Target 1 face-up "Mashou Striker" monster you control; Special Summon 3 "Phantasma Tokens" (Warrior-Type/FIRE/Level ?/ATK ?/DEF ?) with the same original Level, ATK, and DEF as the target. These tokens are also treated as Spellcaster-Type, inflict halved Battle Damage, and cannot attack a monster with 2000 ATK or more. Remove them from the field at the end of the Battle Phase.

Mashou Magic - Armory
Continuous Spell Card
If you do not control a face-up "Mashou Stopper" monster, destroy this card. This card cannot be targeted by and is unaffected by the effects of "Mashou Stopper" monsters. Once per turn: You can reveal 2 Equip Spell Cards in your Deck that can be equipped to a "Mashou Stopper" monster you control and associate each with 1 side of a coin; flip a coin and activate the appropriate Equip Spell Card, equipping it to a "Mashou Stopper" monster you control.

Mashou Equipment - Breaker Bomb
Equip Spell Card
Equip only to a DARK Spellcaster-Type "Mashou" monster. Once per turn: Target 1 face-up Spell/Trap card your opponent controls; place 1 Explosive Counter on it. When the equipped monster declares an attack: You can destroy all cards with Explosive Counters.

Mashou Equipment - Burst Rocket
Equip Spell Card
Equip only to a DARK Spellcaster-Type "Mashou" monster. When the equipped monster attacks, it cannot be destroyed by battle and gains 500 ATK during the Damage Step only.

Mashou Equipment - Rapid Gatling
Equip Spell Card
Equip only to a DARK Spellcaster-Type "Mashou" monster. The equipped monster can attack once more per Battle Phase, but loses 500 ATK during the Damage Step of that battle only.

Mashou Magic - Hope
Field Spell Card
All Spellcaster-Type "Mashou" monsters gain 100 ATK and DEF for each "Mashou" monster in either Graveyard. All "Mashou" monsters can activate each of their effects and change Battle Position an additional time per turn. Once per turn, during your Main Phase 1: You can target 1 "Mashou" monster you control; it gains ATK equal to its Level or Rank x 200 until your End Phase and it cannot activate its effect(s) until your opponent's End Phase.

Mashou Magic - Rewind
Counter Trap Card
When your opponent activates a Spell/Trap Card or effect while you control a "Mashou Stopper" monster: Negate the activation and effect, and if you do, it remains face-up on the field. During the End Phase: Your opponent can Set that face-up card, otherwise send it to the Graveyard.


The main play of this deck is using Mashou Breeder to summon a Mashou in MP1, conducting Battle Phase, then bringing the Breeder back to Synchro that Mashou's Synchro equivalent. There are also plenty of potential ways to make use of Striker and Defender, possibly in a deck dedicated just to those two, since they can make full use of both Warrior and Spellcaster support while on the field. This includes equips, so they can become a pretty big threat with the right combo. The Sorrowitch archetype is another archetype connected to this one that revolves around using the Mashou for DARK Xyz Monsters instead of Synchro Monsters, which I will also be posting soon enough. Sorrowitch is where False Mashou Breeder shines a bit more, though False still has its uses in a normal Mashou deck should you not have a normal one to use for tuning.
